Winton's volunteer fire brigade has been cleared to resume duties from today (15 February) after most have now received their negative COVID-19 PCR tests.

Just one member is still awaiting their results to come through.

Neighbouring brigades who were on standby for Winton have now been stood down.

Winton Business Association chairperson Daphne Fairbairn said everyone is relieved that the brigade was resuming their normal activities.

It would also be a huge relief for all the [firefighter] volunteers and their families, she said.
