A parade to celebrate the Southland Boys’ High School First XV becoming national champions will take place through Invercargil's inner city on Wednesday 13th September.


The school team won the New Zealand Barbarians 1st XV championship after beating the Westlake Boys' High School team, 32 - 29, in Palmerston North on Sunday (3 Sep).



They also become the new holders of the famed Moascar Cup, the oldest and most prestigious First XV trophy in ther country. 


The parade, organised by Invercargill City Council and Great South, will start at 2.45pm on Wednesday and move from Don Street to Dee, then Esk Street before finishing outside the Invercargill Civic Administration building.


Central city streets will be closed from 1.50pm, and will reopen once the parade has passed by.
