A person has sustained serious injuries following a water-related incident on Lake Te Anau this afternoon.

Police, Fire and Ambulance crews were called to the public boat ramp on Te Anau Terrace at 4pm this afternoon.

Two rescue helicopters were subsequently dispatched.

St Johns Media Centre have confirmed one person in a critical condition has now been airlifted to Dunedin Hospital.
