The deep low is moving away from New Zealand, leaving a weak narrow ridge over the lower South Island.
The next front moves onto Southland from later tomorrow morning, whole another low forming on this front goes over the upper North Island on Tuesday.
Late Tuesday it looks like another front will come onto the lower south, the n winds tend NW ahead of more fronts late in the week.

Light winds and cloudy, sun trying to break through from late morning and some light frost possible tonight.
Monday 22nd
Probably fine all morning, then a fresh westerly change across the region with showers. Clearing in the evening. Snow level 1000m
Tuesday 23rd
Moderate NW winds, some showers in the far west and through Foveaux Strait then more widespread showers in the evening, snow level may lower to 800m at night.
Wednesday 24th
Fresh coastal westerlies in the afternoon, mainly fine inland but showers lingering in the west and along the south coast. Snow level 800m
Outlook
Moderate NW winds on Thursday with showers confined to Fiordland, freshening wind on Friday with showers likely later in the day.
