Police have today (6 Aug) arrested and charged a 53-year-old man following a spate of rural burglaries in Winton and Tuatapere in June and September 2023.

This followed Southland Police executing a search warrant at an Invercargill address this morning.

Sergeant Chris Maguire of Otautau said a motorcycle trailer and motorcycle were recovered during the search warrant.

The man is due to appear in Invercargill District Court facing multiple charges including two charges of receiving stolen property.
