Environment Southland has activated its flood warning system for the Otautau, Waimatuku and Waikaka Streams at 5.50pm, 3 July 2023.

ES advises rivers and streams will continue to rise as snow melts but they are monitoring the situation closely. 

People are encouraged to stay safe while travelling and to avoid areas of surface flooding if necessary.

Emergency Management Southland has been notified.
