The vision for the rebuild of Invercargill's city centre is being further shared with the public with the release of a new fly-through video and interior computer renders of the development.
The video, released by developer Invercargill Central Limited, shows the plans which includes retail shops, a dining precinct, offices and covered carparking of the central block redevelopment.
It includes three distinct food and beverage precincts, covered laneways that connect the food and retail precincts to offices and a multi-level, a childcare facility and a multi-level carpark providing more than 600 parks.
The company says demolition has progressed well to date despite a 5-week break during lockdown.
Next month Invercargill Central Limited will be opening an Information Hub at the the Bank of New South Wales Building where members of the public will be able to pop in and find out more about the redevelopment and ask any questions they may have. They will be able to view the plans of the development, history of the site and any interesting archaeological findings together. The hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am until 2pm.
Meanwhile, the Invercargill City Council is seeking public feedback on its proposal to invest an additional $21 million into the project, which would bring its total commitment to $46 million. Consultation closes on June 12.
