Emergency services have responded to a family harm incident on Durham Street, Winton today (11 Jan).

The incident was reported at 12.15pm.

Police have said that one person has been taken into custody and no injuries had been reported.

Hato Hone St John also responded with one operations manager.

Cordons in the Central Southland town have now been lifted.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

Police have assured the public that there is no ongoing risk to the community.
