Sixty-nine year old retired Army Major, Tony F Williams, is due to arrive at Stirling Point in Bluff at approximately 2.30pm today (15 November) having walked from Cape Reinga, a journey that commenced on 27 August.

Tony has walked the length of the country to raise money for Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres {MSF}) and donations can be made via WALKNZ4MSF.COM

As his website states we witness the world’s conflicts on our screens and feel powerless to help so Tony has made the 2300km journey to raise money for the amazing work MSF are doing in Ukraine and 70 countries around the world.

Tony and his team are veterans of military and first responders and will leave Kelvin Street, Invercargill tomorrow (Tuesday) morning and will be on SH1 to Bluff until they arrive in Bluff.

Once in Bluff Tony intends to stick the tewhatewha he carries with him into the sand at a spot in Bluff before taking a dip. Tony did the same thing before departing Cape Reinga.
