WATER SHUTDOWN

Riverton, Tuesday 29 or Wednesday 30 July

Work is being carried out at 10 Verdun Street.

Areas affected are, 2 – 15 Verdun Street, 32 Taramea Bay Road and 4 Marne Street. Water is expected to be interrupted between 9am-2pm.

Sutherland Street Te Anau: 14 July - 20 October

The following streets will be closed between the period of 14 July to 20 October 2025. This is to install a new watermain.

1. Intersection of Bligh and Sutherland Street from 7am to 6pm Monday 14 July

2. Sutherland St from Bligh St to Worsley St 7am Tuesday 15 July until 6pm Saturday 19 July

3. Sutherland St from Worsley St to Gunn St 7am Monday 28 July until 6pm Saturday 2 August

4. Worsley St (north side) from Sutherland St 7am Monday 4 August until 6pm Saturday 9 August

5. Intersection of Sutherland St and Gunn St 7am Monday 18 August until 6pm Saturday 23 August

6. Gunn St from Sutherland St 7am Monday 1 September until 6pm Sunday 7 September

7. Also, the possibility of closure from 19 Gunn St to 10B Gunn St 7am Monday 9 September until 6pm Sunday 28 September.

These dates are subject to weather conditions and may vary.

A detour will not be available but residents will have managed access to properties.

• Crawford Rd from rapid #1086 to Knowsley Park Rd(Gore DC), Knowsley Park Rd from Crawford Rd to Waiarikiki Rd (Gore DC), Waiarikiki Rd from Knowsley Park Rd to Frazer Rd (Gore DC), Frazer Rd from Waiarikiki Rd to Galt Rd, Galt Rd from Frazer Rd to Lauderdale Bush Rd, Lauderdale Bush Rd from Galt Rd to Collie Rd, Collie Rd from Lauderdale Bush Rd to Mortimer Rd, Mortimer Rd from Collie Rd to Ironwood Bush Rd, Ironwood Bush Rd from Mortimer Rd to Shanks Rd between the hours of 8.00am and 12.25pm.

Saturday 2 August 2025 – Special Stage 2

Saturday 2 August 2025 – Special Stage 6

• Quarry Hills Fortification Rd from Marinui Rd to Waimahaka Fortification Rd, Waimahaka Fortification Rd from Quarry Hills Fortification Rd to Braid Rd, Braid Rd from Waimahaka Fortification Rd to Gibb Rd, Gibb Rd from Braid Rd to Woodslea Downs Rd, Woodslea Downs Rd from Gibb Rd to Tyneholm Rd, Tyneholm Rd from Woodslea Downs Rd to Stout Rd, Stout Rd from Tyneholm Rd to Wyndham Letterbox Rd, between the hours of 1.30pm and 5.55pm

The purpose of the closure is to enable the running of the 2025 Barry Robinson Memorial Wyndham Rally.

A detour will not be available, but the road will be reopened as soon as safely possible in the event of an emergency.

There have been several incidents over the last few months on Southland highways which have been a result of speed or not driving to the conditions. Please make sure that you are aware of the conditions and check the NZ Transport Agency’s Journey Planner for any known issues or programmed road works on state highways before you travel.

• SH99 Clifden highway near the Waiau river, stop/go
