Winton’s 10th annual Pink Ribbon fundraiser event for breast cancer has raised $6000 for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
The In the Pink Ladies Luncheon was hosted by the Top Pub Garden Bar on Friday October 30.
Winton Business Association spokeswoman Maria Scammell was delighted with the result.

The event had already raised more than $40,000 for breast cancer survivors over the previous nine years, she said.
“We had a really successful day. We had 107 ladies turn up, so it was really good. We flew in a guest speaker, Emily Searle, from Tauranga. She was fantastic.”
Emily Searle was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 36.
After she wrote a letter of farewell to her boobs and posted it on Facebook in 2017, she was inundated with letters from other women who had also had surgery.
The letters formed the basis of a book, Dear Boobs, and now more than 1000 copies have been printed and shared in waiting rooms around New Zealand.
She continues to raise funds so she can share the book even further.
Nationally, at least 1524 Pink Ribbon promotions have been hosted around the country this year, raising $765,858 for the foundation.
