Heavy Rain Warning for Fiordland - Orange

Area: Fiordland
Valid: 8:00pm Wednesday to 8:00pm Thursday
Expect 100 to 150 mm of rain, but possibly as much as 200 to 300 mm north of Doubtful Sound. Peak rates of 15 to 25 mm/h during Thursday, especially in thunderstorms.
Heavy Rain Warning for Southland - Orange

Area: Southland and Clutha
Valid: 3:00am Thursday to 6:00pm Thursday
Expect 50 to 80 mm of rain, especially northwest of Lumsden. Peak rates of 10 to 15 mm/h.
Heavy rain may cause streams and rivers to rise rapidly. Surface flooding and slips are also possible and driving conditions may be hazardous.
Strong Wind Warning for Southland, Fiordland, Stewart Island - Orange

Valid: 8:00pm Wednesday to 7:00am Thursday
Severe gale northwesterlies with damaging gusts of 130 km/h in exposed places, especially in Fiordland.
Note, strong winds easing from the south during Friday morning.
Strong wind gusts could damage trees, powerlines and unsecured structures. Driving may be hazardous, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles.
