Public Notification on behalf of Meridian Energy.

Te Anau Lake Control (TLC) Gate Vibration Testing – Monday Nov 8 to Friday Nov 12.

Throughout this week Meridian Energy will be conducting field-testing to gauge gate vibration at TLC. There will be up to nine tests each day between 8am and 6pm.

This will result in repeated temporary river flow variations at the control structure. These will become less apparent the further downstream.

Meridian anticipates the following river level fluctuations.

• 1km downstream of TLC: between 29 and 108mm

• Queens Reach: between 6-22mm

• Rainbow Reach: 0-2mm

These fluctuations may not appear to be significant, but river users need to be aware that there will be associated variations in water velocity. The variations will be greater the closer to the control structure and will be attenuated in relation to distance downstream.

Meridian Energy will erect signage at the Queens Reach boat ramp , Rainbow Reach, and erect notices near the control structure for the information of the public.
