Multiple people have died at the scene of a serious crash on Queens Drive, Invercargill this afternoon.

Emergency services responded to a two vehicle accident just before 4pm today (22 April).

A concrete truck and a Ford Ranger were involved, Police said.

Initial indications indicated there were serious injuries.

St Johns advised that they dispatched two ambulances. They subsequently accessed and treated one patient at the scene, who had suffered minor injuries .

The road will be closed between St Andrew Street and King Street overnight.

The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
