A male pedestrian has died following an incident involving a train this afternoon (17 Mar) on the corner of Tyne and Ness Streets, Invercargill.
Emergency services responded to the incident at 5.20pm, where a person was located deceased.
Police have now concluded a scene examination, and they along with KiwiRail are working on clearing the scene.
Police are continuing efforts to identify the deceased, which is likely to take some time.
As part of these inquiries, we are asking for any members of the public who may have seen the incident to please get in touch.
