Police investigating a serious incident at an address on Hamilton Street in East Gore this afternoon have now concluded their inquiries in the area and are satisfied that no one is at risk.
The armed offenders squad responded after police were called to an alleged firearms incident at an address on Hamilton Street in East Gore just after 2.30pm today (January 19). The street was blocked off and and some nearby homes and businesses were in lockdown as a precaution. Members of the public were advised to avoid the area.

The cordons have now been lifted and businesses are no longer in lockdown.
No one was injured and no arrests have been made.
Police have issued a statement saying inquiries into circumstances of the incident are ongoing and have thanks members of the public for their patience while staff attended.
