Sacha Bond, from Piopio, has decisively broken the women's solo 8-hour strong wool lambs world record at Fairlight Station today (4 Feb).
The Tuhoe shearer beat the existing record by a whooping 92 lambs, setting a new world record of 603.
The previous record was set by Canadian Pauline Bolay who recorded of 510 lambs at Whitford Farms in the Waikaretu Valley, below Auckland, in 2019.
Bond winning performance started at 7am this morning and was split into four 2-hour runs.

Update 1
Bond's first run notched up 150 lambs, which was 27 lambs more than Bolay at the same stage.
Update 2
Bond's second run saw her again finish having completed 150 lambs, which increased her lead over Bolay to 52 lambs.
Update 3
Bond maintains her 150 lamb per run rate, increasing her 52 lamb lead over Bolay by another 19.
