Police are continuing to search overnight for two missing people in Rowallan Forrest.

The Invercargill father and son were believed to have intended to camp overnight in the area on Friday (1 April) .

They were reported missing on Saturday (2 April) after failing to return.

Police search and rescue and LandSAR teams mounted a search on Sunday (3 April). This included using a helicopter with thermol imaging and night vision equipment.

They were joined today (4 April) by multiple LandSAR teams including two LandSAR search dogs.

Police are concerned for their welfare as it is believed they were ill-equipped for a night out in the bush.
