The Tuapeka Harness Racing Club are heading south to Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill on Sunday (23 October) for their annual Cup Day.
It promises to be a fantastic day with the $25,000 Tuapeka Lodge Cup plus three $20,000 Spring Rewards Finals on track allied to some wonderful viewing and entertainment on course.
This is the second year the club has raced in Invercargill but plans to announce their arrival in style last year was somewhat subdued due to Covid number restrictions on course. However, the club is back this year and with no restrictions a free bus will run from Lawrence and the surrounding area to the event.
Club President Owen Cameron says: "It will be a great day’s racing with plenty for the kids to enjoy. We are happy to be racing back in Invercargill again this year.”
The club is offering a $40 per head hospitality package at the Top Of The Park Lounge overlooking the run home and the winning post, while there is plenty of entertainment for the kids.
The first 100 kids on course will receive a free ice cream from Mr Whippy while there will be free mini jeep rides and a bouncy castle plus a face painter on course.
Kidz Kartz racing will also be on track during the day.
Keep an eye on the Tuapeka Harness Racing Club page for more information. The first race is timed to start at 12.50pm and admission is free.
