Invercargill citizens living in 2072 will be able to look back into these pandemic years through the eyes of locals.
A time capsule is set to be placed in the wall lining of the city's new shopping centre.
"There will be a plaque on the wall where it will be located with instructions for it to be opened in 50 years in 2072," says Invercargill Central Ltd's public relations manager Amy Hibbs.
"It will be a stainless steel cylinder and is approximately 160mm in diameter and 750mm in length.
