Te Anau will host three community markets this Labour Weekend.

The Sunday Market will not operate on Sunday this this Labour Weekend, instead you can find it today (Saturday, 24 October) at the Village Green (in front of The Ranch) and then on Monday (26 October) at the Te Anau Club, Corner Pop Andrew Drive & Jackson Street. Both markets will be open from 10am to 2pm.

There will be a large variety of goods available for sale including hand-made light-weight backpacks, beautiful merino machine knitting, knitted and crocheted toys, vegetable plants, jams, pickles, home baking, pottery, cosmetics, beeswax wraps, Christmas material eco-friendly for wrapping presents, jewellery, soaps, candles, cakes and biscuits.

Rod Hall-Jones, a third generation Te Anau writer, will be selling his recently published book, and local photographer, Chris Watson will be selling next year’s calendars with his award winning photography.

A sausage sizzle will also operate outside the entrance door on Labour Day (Monday).

This season’s first Te Anau Community Market will be held on Monday, 26 October from 9am to 3pm at the Real Journeys Fiordland Community Event Centre (note change of day from the usual Saturday). More than 40 stalls will sell a wide range of goods from crafts, fresh produce, flowers, free-range eggs, baking and hot food, jewellery, clothing, woodwork and soaps.
