Teenagers who died in crash named

Police have now named the four teenagers who died on Friday (22 April) following a crash near Queens Park, Invercargill.


They were Konnor Steele (16), Indaka Rouse (16), Kyah Kennedy (16), all from Bluff, and O Maruhuatau Otuwhare Tawhai, aged 17, from Invercargill.


The accident involved a Ford Ranger and a concrete pump truck.

A section of Queens Drive was cordoned off for almost 24 hours while a Serious Crash Unit carried out their investigations.


An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.


Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information is asked to contact Police on 105 quoting event number P050332364.
