Southland Police, alongside other Search and Rescue partner agencies, are hosting a major search and rescue exercise on Lake Te Anau this Saturday (18 Nov).

The Southland App understands the exercise may involve up to 200 people from throughout Otago and Southland.

Police have advised the exercise will include a large number of vessel and helicopter movements.

They have warned motorists that there will be disruptions on the Te Anau – Manapouri Highway near the Marakura Wharf due to increased vehicle traffic.
