Te Anau families turned out in their droves yesterday, for no other reason than to enjoy a fun day out.
The community party was dreamed up during the COVID-19 lockdown as a way of coming together and enjoying each other's company when restrictions on mass gatherings were lifted.
Thanks to some generous donations of time, skills, equipment and food, the entire day was provided free of charge.
Children enjoyed a variety of activities in the town's stadium from trampolining to an obstacle course and bouncy castle, while a string of live entertainment was provided in the adjacent hall, headlined by Craig Smith of The Wonky Donkey fame.
Meanwhile, volunteers served up a continual stream of free food, from barbecued sausages and meat patties cooked up by the local fire brigade, to home baked cakes and biscuits.
Volunteers served free food and hot drinks throughout the afternoon.
Families enjoyed a range of fun activities in the town's stadium.
