The Winton Harness Racing Club holds its first weekend meeting of the season at Central Southland Raceway in Winton on Sunday (15 November).

The first race is timed to start at 12 noon, with one of the highlights of the day the Gold Chip Handicap Trot Final for a stake of $12,000 over a distance of 2400 metres.

Southern Harness Racing spokesman Lindsay Beer said although Sunday's meeting was a small one, it would be a fun day for patrons to enjoy. The coming racing season promised to be "pretty full" until May or June next year, he said..
