An equipment failure at the PowerNet's Edendale Zone substation last night is affecting water heating, streetlights and night store heaters to Edendale residents.

In a statement issued this afternoon, PowerNet says that, to minimise disruption, some customers in the Edendale area are being switched to other substations for their electricity supply

The streetlights in Edendale and Wyndham have also been switched on manually and will remain on until the repairs are completed.

"Our PowerNet teams are currently working on repairing the equipment, this is a big job and should be completed by late Saturday (7th November)."

Anyone experiencing an issue with their hot water is asked to phone the System Control team on 0800 808 587 where the operator will step you through the process to get your hot water going again.
