Southern Humates presents a seminar explaining the importance of the biology in your soil and through this reducing leaching, increasing fertiliser efficiency and improving soil health will be held at Heartland Hotel Croydon in Gore on Thursday 6th June, between 3 - 6pm.
Featuring soil experts Stan Winter and Don Hart as guest speakers and presentations from Mainland Minerals, Southern Soil Solutions in association with
Q Labs, United Fisheries, Optimise Lime, EMNZ and Southern Humates.
Stan is a soil expert based in Southland with more than 40 years’ experience.
He spent 26 years as a Fertiliser Chemist Technical Manager studying interactions between soil, climate, plants, animals and fertiliser based at the Awarua plant.
For the past 25 years, he has shared his expertise as an independent soil/fertiliser consultant, working with farmers in Southland and Otago.
Originally a farmer from Waimate, Don set out on his journey to increase his pasture production and found answers at an Acres USA conference in the early 90s.
With Don’s expertise, farm managers over a range of seasons have found the system he uses to be more profitable and sustainable than the conventional synthetic N, P, & K approach.
Don is passionate about regenerative farming with the use of nature’s biology and fertilisers that help the biology and plants thrive, resulting in environmentally friendly, high quality and high yielding crops.
Stan and Don will also hold a Q&A session, followed by presentations from attending companies to briefly touch on their approaches to improving soil nutrition.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided and there will be an opportunity for all those present to come and visit the stands of participating companies for further questions.
