State Highway 1 has been closed, between Longbush and Kennington near Invercargill, after a truck hit an electric power pole on the highway at around 2.30pm today (9 Nov).

The incident has happened at the highway's intersection with Grace Road.

Police advise no injuries are reported, but ambulance services have been called as a precaution.

The road will remain closed while contractors repair the electrical damage.

Motorists should expect delays.
