Two people are injured - one in a serious condition - after a car collided with a train at Charlton, near Gore, this afternoon (28 Sep).

Both have now been transported to Kew Hospital.

Emergency services were alerted at 1.37pm, with both FENZ fire trucks and Hato Hone St John responding.

One Hato Hone St John ambulance, one rapid response unit and a manager attended.

FENZ units were on the scene for just 20 minutes.

The road is now clear.
