A serious crash has closed the Mossburn - Five Rivers Road (SH97) near Mossburn this evening (19 Apr).

Police, Mossburn and Lumsden Fire Brigades are at the scene of a serious crash which was reported about 6.15pm and occurred between Hillas and Ellis roads. 

One person has received serious injuries and two people have moderate injuries.

The Serious Crash Unit will be investigating, and the road is expected to be closed for some time. 

Traffic management is being arranged and motorists should expect delays.

Detour:

Northbound traffic turn left onto State Highway 94, right onto State Highway 97 and then back onto State highway 6. Reverse for southbound. Please note this detour is suitable for heavy vehicles.
