A serious crash around 6am this morning (11 Sep) has closed the Bluff Highway at the intersection of Kew Road.

Police advise the crash involved two cars and have resulted in serious injuries.

The road will remain closed at the intersection with Kew Road while emergency services work at the scene.

Motorists are asked to expect delays and take alternate routes.

A detour for all vehicles is via Elizabeth St/Elles Road/Elles Road roundabout.

Highway South say the closure is likely to be in place for a number of hours.
