It has been a busy first half of the year at Sacred Heart School.

Young Vinnies
Our Young Vinnies fundraised for baking goods by having a BBQ, we then made 12 banana loaves for Sister Maria to take to families in need.
We made wheat bags for those in Hospice Southland, thanks to Clarks seed and feed for donating the sack of wheat.
We are having a mufti day on the 27th June where students will bring a can of food for our local foodbank.

Enviroschools
Our leaders have been busy behind the scenes working with Josh Sullivan to establish an area in our school where we can replant native plants and trees that were here before Waikiwi was established.

Our inquiry has been based around ‘Our Mercy Journey’. Sacred Heart was founded by the Sisters of Mercy, a religious order that began on Baggot Street in Dublin, Ireland by Catherine McCauley.
We have had the privilege of working alongside Sister Maria Goretti to understand our school’s history.

We have been busy learning about our school charism and values; our senior students have created a video on the history of our school, which will soon be released on our school website www.shsinv.school.nz
