Due to a collapsed building and downed power lines, a section of State Highway 1 at Bluff is closed.

A detour is available for both light and heavy vehicles via Liffey/Barrow/Slaney streets. For eastbound traffic, turn right onto Liffey Street, left onto Barrow Street and left onto Slaney St. Reverse for westbound traffic.

A building assessment will be completed today and the road closure may continue into the day.

Motorists are asked to follow the detour route, plan their journey accordingly, and allow extra time for travel. 

SH1 in this location remains closed.
