On behalf of NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Highways South are undertaking programmed renewals of sections of highways in Southland to improve journeys for road users.
Due to poor weather, earlier communicated programme dates have had to be adjusted.
Please see an update of the status of planned renewals below:
SH99 Oreti renewal:
Completed
SH6 Lowther renewal:
Completed
SH94 Mossburn renewal (east of Mossburn):
This is likely to be finished and sealed today.
SH6 Centre Bush renewal:
This is almost complete; we anticipate sealing this site next week.
SH94 So Big renewal (west of Mossburn):
This is underway with temporary traffic lights in place, and a delay of up to ten minutes. This site will be under traffic lights for about 4 weeks.
SH6 Jollies hill renewal:
Digouts for this renewal will start mid-next week. We expect delays of up to 5 minutes, but please note that there may be longer delays on Wednesday 6th due to the Tour of Southland travelling through this area between 10.30am – 11.30am.
As the full renewal of this area is is a long site, the renewal has been split into two sections. The first half of the renewal will take place later in November/December, and the second half in the new year.
SH94 Kruger renewal:
This renewal has been delayed slightly and is likely to begin the second week of November.
