Below is a list of planned roadworks on Southland state highways next week where you may experience delays.
ROAD CLOSURES:
- SH6 near Lowther (between Mossburn-Five Rivers Road and Lowther Road) will be closed from 6.30am-6.30pm daily between Monday 30th September and Monday 7th October. All vehicles detour via Mossburn-Five Rivers Road and Mossburn-Lumsden highway. SH6 will re-open each night at 6.30pm until 6.30am the following morning with a 30km/hr speed limit.
- SH6 Dee St in Invercargill at the Victoria Ave intersection will be closed for a very short period between 7pm and 10pm on Monday 30th September to allow house removal.
Highways South work with traffic management in place (all with temporary traffic lights and temporary speed limits):
- SH6 Centre Bush, pavement renewal work *ongoing for 5-6 weeks
- SH6 Lowther, pavement renewal work *ongoing for 5-6 weeks. Road closure from 30 September to 7 October, 6.30am-6.30pm (open overnight)
- SH99 Riverton-Wallacetown highway west of Wallacetown, pavement renewal work *ongoing for 4-5 weeks
- SH94 Waimea highway between Fingerpost-Pyramid Road and Riversdale, drainage work
- SH1 Gore-Mataura highway near Gore Airfield, drainage work
- SH93 Old Coach Road between Jeff Road and Owaka valley Road, pavement repairs
- SH93 Old Coach Road near Hurst Road, pavement repairs
- SH93 Old Coach Road near Waikana Road, pavement repairs
- SH93 Old Coach Road near Cameron Road, pavement repairs
- SH1 Edendale-Woodlands highway at Dacre-Morton Mains Road, pavement repairs
- SH1 Edendale-Woodlands highway at Halcrow Road, pavement repairs
- SH93 Old Coach Road near Hurst Road, test pits
- SH93 Old Coach Road near Slopedown School Road, test pits
- SH94 Waimea highway near Monaghan road, test pits
- SH94 Te Anau Mossburn highway at The Key, test pits
Third party work and events with traffic management in place this week (all with temporary speed limits):
- SH6 Dee St Invercargill, lane closures of south and northbound SH6 lanes at Victoria Ave for short periods for house removal, between 7pm and 10pm on 30th September. Heavy traffic wanting to use bypass will be held for 5-10 minutes as required.
Please observe the speed limits on our worksites, both when teams are working and when the sites are unattended, for the safety of our crew, other road users and to protect the road surface.
