Roadworks Update 27/3/24

Highways South wishes to advise that we will be completing planned pavement excavation and asphalt resurfacing work on SH1 Clyde St to improve the condition of journeys in this area, beginning after Easter.

The work involves pavement excavation, drainage, concreting, structural asphalt, and line marking.

The work will take place in the southbound lanes of SH1 between Balmoral Drive and Nith St with some work also required in the lane from Bond St into Clyde St (southbound).

This requires the closure of the southbound lanes of SH1 with southbound traffic detoured via Earn St/Nith St.

All heavy traffic on Bond St will need to use the Annan St/Crinan St detour onto Clyde St, then the Earn St/Nith St detour.

When work is required in the pavement turning lane from Bond St into SH1 Clyde St, northbound traffic will also be detoured via Bond St/Annan St and Crinan St.

Please follow directions of the crew onsite.

Emergency Services will have access when required.

This closure will be in place from 7am on April 3rd and is expected to last until 7pm on May 3rd (unless advised otherwise).

Teams will work Monday to Friday and on Saturdays when possible.

There will be a period of time when concrete is curing that no work will be able to take place.

NZ Transport Agency/Waka Kotahi has a notification on the Journey Planner which will be kept up to date throughout the work.

Highways South understands this work will cause disruption, we work hard to minimise the impact and take the control and management of such works very seriously.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us directly.
