Events on Southland Roads

• The Tour of Southland starts on Sunday (29 Oct) and runs through until Saturday (4 Nov) - expect delays on state highways across Southland during this time.
• Two firemen will be walking on SH1/SH6 from Bluff to Queenstown with a support crew from 30 Oct to 5 Nov for a charity event - please pass them with care.

Highways South work with traffic management in place (all with temporary speed limits):

• SH1 Edendale-Woodlands highway three locations near Dacre, stop/go for resurfacing

• SH1 Edendale Woodlands Highway at Dacre, temporary traffic lights for pavement renewal (ongoing for several weeks)

• SH1 Waipahi highway west of Pukerau, temporary traffic lights for renewal and resurfacing work (last week)

• SH1 Edendale-Woodlands highway just west of Edendale hill, temporary traffic lights for drainage work

• SH6 Lumsden-Dipton highway north of Josephville, temporary traffic lights for pavement work

• SH6 Five Rivers-Lumsden highway near Ellis Road, temporary traffic lights for pavement work

• SH6 Athol-Five Rivers highway at Parawa, temporary traffic lights for pavement work

• SH6 Kingston-Garston highway near Cainard Road, temporary traffic lights for pavement work

• SH6 Kingston-Garston highway south of Kingston , temporary traffic lights for pavement work

• SH93 Gorge Road Clinton, road closure and detour for tree felling and pavement work Monday 30th October, **Detour for light vehicles via Old Manse Road/SH1; Heavy vehicles use SH1 from Mataura to Clinton

• SH98 Lorne Dacre Road from Lorneville roundabout to west of Taylor Road, stop/go for resurfacing

• SH6/Diana Street Lumsden road closure and detour for Tour of Southland, Monday 30th October 12 noon to 3.30pm. Detour via Hero/Flora streets 

• SH94/Hokonui Drive between Preston and Traford streets, road closure and detour for Tour of Southland, Friday 3rd November from 1-3pm; detour via Traford/Fairfield/Preston sterets or Avon/Ordsal/Traford Streets

• SH6/Great North Road between Bute Street and Winton-Hedgehope highway, road closure southbound and detour for Tour of Southland, Saturday 4th November from 1-3pm; detour via Bute/Park/Albert streets; heavy detour via Gap Road West/Winton Substation Road/Winton Wreys Bush Highway
