Here’s the scheduled upcoming works for Southland district this week:

WATER SHUTDOWNS

No new water shutdowns are happening this week.

ROAD CLOSURES

Ōraka Aparima: Pourakino Valley

Pourakino Valley Road, from Centre Road to Ermedale Road, will be closed from 7:30 am on Monday, 22 September 2025, until 5:30 pm on Friday, 17 October 2025. This date range may be extended due to weather and river condition delays. This is to carry out bridge repairs.

A detour will be available north via Ermedale Rd, and south via Centre Rd. Residents will have access to properties on either side of the bridge closure.

Fiordland: Hillside

Wilderness Road from 143 Wilderness Road to 208 Wilderness Road will be closed from between the hours of 7 am to 6 pm on Wednesday, 24 September 2025. This is to allow a duct to be installed across the road.

A detour will be available for residents via Whitestone Road.

STATE HIGHWAYS WORK

Highways South work with temporary traffic lights or stop/go and temporary speed limits this week:

-             SH94 Te Anau-Mossburn highway at The Key, traffic lights for flanking/drainage work for upcoming road renewal

-             SH96 Winton-Wreys Bush highway at Heddon Bush, traffic lights for flanking/drainage work for upcoming road renewal

-             SH96 Wreys Bush-Nightcaps highway between Wreys Bush-Mossburn Road and Lynch Road, traffic lights for road renewal

-             SH99 Orepuki-Riverton highway south of Orepuki, traffic lights for surface water channel work.

Third-party work and events with traffic management in place this week:

-             No notified disruptive third-party works next week in Southland district.
