A map of sites where you may experience delays on Southland state highways due to maintenance, renewal or third-party contractor work can be found here, and these sites are listed below.  Many of these are subject to good weather, so dates may change if this is not the case. 

**Please note that the annual Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust Charity Bike Ride takes place between Queenstown and Invercargill on Friday 9th May. Please expect delays between Queenstown and Five Rivers on Friday morning.

Highways South work with temporary traffic lights and temporary speed limits this week:

• SH1 Bluff highway at Awarua for pavement repairs
• SH1 Bluff highway near Awarua Siding Road for pavement repairs
• SH1 Bluff highway south of Awarua Siding Road for pavement repairs
• SH1 Bluff highway at Kekeno Place/Ballance entrance traffic lights (Sunday 4th – Tuesday 6th) for asphalt resurfacing
• SH6 Athol-Five Rivers highway at Lowther
• SH93 Old Coach Road near Waddle Road for pavement repairs
• SH94 Waimea highway near Monaghan Road for pavement repairs
• SH99 Lorneville, eastbound road closure from Steel Road to Lorneville roundabout (24/7 from Monday 5th – Friday 9th) - Detour via Steel Road/Moore Road

Roadmarking:

• SH1 Invercargill urban (nightwork) – mobile operation
• SH96 Ohai to Mataura – mobile operation
• SH98 Dacre to Lorneville – mobile operation

Third party work and events with traffic management in place this week:

• SH1 Waipahi highway at Pukerau, traffic lights for tree maintenance
• SH93 Old Coach Road at Waikana Road, stop/go for power pole maintenance
• SH99 Orepuki Riverton highway at Longwood, stop/go for power pole maintenance

Upcoming SH99 closure – SH99 at the Aparima Bridge in Riverton will be closed for maintenance work on the evenings of Monday 19th, Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st May. Further details will follow next week.
