Important: From 6am on Monday 19th September to 7pm on Sunday 25th September SH6/Lumsden-Dipton highway will be closed between Caroline Valley Road and Josephville St-Patricks Road to through traffic.
Road users will be detoured via Dipton-Castlerock Road and SH94/Mossburn-Lumsden highway and back on to SH6.
Residents and road users wanting to access Dipton businesses from the south, and Lumsden businesses from the north will still have access.
Highways South work with traffic management in place
• SH6, Josephville Hill, road closed between Caroline Valley Road and Josephville St-Patricks Road (see note above) for culvert renewal
• SH6, Josephville Hill – while the above road is closed crews will complete litter pick up, edge-break repair, drainage clearing/cleaning, pothole repair and pavement stabilisation – traffic management will be in place for this within the road closure area (as this is still open to residents).
There will also be watercutting happening on the network next week on SH6 between Winton and Makarewa, SH96 between Winton and Ohai and on SH96 between Winton and Mataura . Traffic management will be stop/go.

• SH1, Marine Parade Bluff, stop/go and temporary speed limit
• SH1, Awarua Bluff Highway, stop/go and temporary speed limit
• SH1, East Road Kennington, stop/go and temporary speed limit in place (work ongoing for a month)
• SH1, Medway St Gore, lane diversion and temporary speed limit in place (Tuesday 20th only)
• SH6, Dee St Invercargill at the Don St intersection, lane drop of north-bound lane and temporary speed limit
• SH6, North Road Invercargill between Moore Road and Lorneville roundabout, lane drop and temporary speed limit for the replacement of water mains
• SH6, North Road Invercargill between McIvor road and Moore Road, temporary traffic lights and temporary speed limit for the replacement of water mains (work ongoing for three weeks)
• SH94, Te Anau Mossburn Highway at Red Tussock Conservation area, stop/go and temporary speed limit
• SH98, Lorne Dacre Road, temporary traffic lights and temporary speed limit
**Upcoming works/events
• SH1, Dacre – temporary traffic lights for road rehabilitation from late September
• Tour of Southland, 30 October – 5 November throughout Southland
