PowerNet & SouthRoads will be working on SH1 East Road in Invercargill from June 16th as part of the wider upgrade to build a new 66kV electricity distribution line.

Pole construction will begin on East Road and take up to take up to eight weeks.

During this time, SH1 East Road between Mill Road North and Racecourse/Rockdale Road will be closed in the westbound direction from 16th June.

Detour for all westbound (Invercargill bound) traffic via Mill Road North/Findlay Road/Racecourse Road.

Highways South work with temporary traffic lights and temporary speed limits this week:

• SH6 North Road near Lorneville roundabout for drainage work
• SH93 Old Coach Road near Clinton for drainage work

Third party work and events with traffic management in place this week:

• SH1 Marine Parade Bluff, stop/go for excavation work
• SH1 Clyde Street, lane drop for watermain works
• SH1 East Road Invercargill, westbound closure and detour via Mill Road North/Findlay Road for pole installation
• SH6 North Road Invercargill between McIvor and Bainfield Roads, lane drop for pavement repairs
• SH6 Athol Five Rivers Highway, stop/go for excavation work
• SH96 Winton-Wreys Bush Highway at Heddon Bush Road, traffic lights for culvert work
• SH99 Orepuki Riverton Highway, stop/go for pole replacement
