Public meeting from 7-9pm, Thursday 23rd November in Mossburn Community Centre Social room.

Topic: Saving endangered birds which nest on gravel islands below the Wreys Bush bridge over the Aparima River.

Guest speaker : Lead DoC scientist Dr Clement Lagrue, with an update on this 10 year project – now in its 7th year.

Also Grant McGregor from McGregor Concrete who is the local person involved with providing better safe nesting sites through his strategic placing of gravel in the river as he works on extraction! Local support for this project in the form of trap purchases & checking trap lines could be very valuable assets to enable these birds to have much better nesting & fledgling results.
