Police release name of crash victim

Police have confirmed the youngster killed in a crash in Invercargill on Monday was 16-year-old Karson Grennell.


The teenager, who is from Invercargill, died in hospital on Tuesday morning, following a crash at the intersection of Nith Street and Bowmont St, Invercargill, at 5.50pm on 1 August.


"Police extend our condolences to his family and friends," a police spokesperson said.



An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.


Police had appealed for information, asking anyone who witnessed the crash, or observed a 1988 blue Mitsubishi Mirage in the Newfield area about 4.30pm, or in Nith St and Bowment St before the crash.
