Police say they are disappointed after a recent road safety operation in Gore revealed several instances of dangerous and impaired driving.
Operation Bullseye saw around 200 vehicles stopped and breath-tested last week.
Four drivers were charged with excess breath alcohol over 400mg, and one repeat offender lost both their licence and vehicle on the spot after a third offence.
Several other drivers were issued infringements for offences including speeding, using mobile phones, not wearing seatbelts, and returning breath alcohol results over 250mg.
Gore Public Safety Officer Sergeant Christopher Dunbar said people driving while impaired put themselves, their passengers, and other road users at risk, with alcohol and/or drugs a factor in about 20 percent of all fatal crashes.
Dunbar urged motorists to stick to the basics, watching their speed and following distances, wearing seatbelts, put any phones away and always driving sober and alert.
He added that drivers should expect to be stopped by Police anytime and anytime.
