Hokonui Culture Feast is gearing up to offer delicious food, music, dance and workshops with an international flavour at the end of the month.
This year’s event will be held at the Gore Town and Country Club on Friday, June 28 from 6.00pm.
Organisers say the free family-friendly event is growing in popularity each year, and there are now several events using the same name and format around the country.
Event organiser Mihaela Erdelyi said it was flattering that other places like Balclutha and Hokitika were now using the event name as well as the event format.
“We’re really happy with how the event is evolving but with the same ingredients, of food, performance and workshops to bring people together.”
This year’s event will again feature international food stalls, a children’s corner and entertainment from various local community groups, as well as special guest performers on the night.
Food will be available for purchase and there will be a cash bar again this year.
The groups selling the food get to keep the profits, Ms Erdelyi said.
The food stalls confirmed so far include Filipino, Asian fusion, Lebanese, Turkish, Fijian, and Malaysian.
“If anyone else would like to perform or include a food stall it would be great to hear from them.”
The event has received funding from the Ethnic Communities Development Fund for the first time this year.
