Palliative Care Social Worker / Counsellor - Hospice Southland

Are you an enthusiastic Social Worker / Counsellor capable of providing the very best in individualised palliative care?


Hospice Southland is the Specialist Palliative Care provider for the region of Southland and Wakatipu Basin, and we are extremely passionate about the opportunity we have to provide the very best care for our patients and their families/whānau.


We are looking for a like-minded Social Worker / Counsellor with experience, preferably within a health-related setting, to join us on a permanent part-time basis to work 16 hours per week in the Wakatipu area.


You must be registered with a current annual practicing certificate from the NZ Social Workers Registration Board. You must also have been vaccinated against Covid-19 and be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.


While the position is based in Queenstown, you will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team and share a passion to provide individualised care and support to our patients and their family/whānau to enable our Living Every Moment philosophy to be fully realised.


You will need to be versatile, providing both a social work and intervention service as well as supporting the patient and their family/whanau with counselling and bereavement support.


Your friendly, positive, and helpful personality will allow you to professionally represent Hospice Southland’s values to our patients, their families, volunteers and colleagues who we interact and work with every day.
