The charges were laid following a police investigation into the explosion and fire which broke out in the kitchen of their home in south Invercargill on the afternoon of September 9.

Three people were injured and two – Mr Just and Miss Bower – were seriously injured and were flown to Dunedin hospital to receive treatment for their burns.

The pair's charges read that Mr Just and Miss Bower "jointly offended" with the other, and "did produce a class B controlled drug, namely cannabis oil".

They are remanded at large until November 23 for a case review hearing.
