Amy Maynard from Hamilton has been named the overall winner of the NZ Gold Guitar Awards on Sunday night.


The awards are part of the 10-day Tussock Country festival and see some of our best performers flock to Aotearoa's country music capital, Gore.


Gore's Brendon Fairbairn was named the runner-up.


There were also prizes for best male and female solo, gospel, traditional, new country, country rock, duet, vocal group, New Zealand song and instrumental.
