NOTIFICATION OF AN APPLICATION FOR A CONCESSION TO CONSTRUCT A NEW BULIDING, ASSOCIATED EARTHWORKS WITHIN STATE HIGHWAY 94 AT HOMER TUNNEL IN FIORDLAND NATIONAL PARK

The Minister of Conservation gives notice under section 17SC of the Conservation Act 1987 of an application by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency for a concession to construct a new equipment building, associated earthworks for trenching, investigations and reinforcing existing structures, within State Highway 94(SH94), a concession area and Fiordland National Park at east Homer Tunnel, adjacent to SH94.

Any person or organisation may make comment in writing to the Director-General for or against the proposal or make any other written submissions on the proposal.


Comment submission forms may be downloaded from the specific application webpage found at www.doc.govt.nz/consultations (or available from your local DOC office).

Submissions will be accepted up to and including 5.00 pm on Monday 4th April 2022.


Once submitted, submitters’ information is subject to the Official Information Act 1982 and may be released under that Act. If you wish to keep any part of your submission

confidential, you need to state this in writing when making your submission.


Any person or organisation wishing to be heard in support of his/her submission, must request (within that submission) an opportunity to appear before the Director-General.


If a hearing is required, it is likely to occur in the week beginning 26 April 2022.
