No new COVID-19 cases today

There were no new cases of COVID-19 reported in New Zealand today.


That means the national total remains at 1497 cases – 1147 of those having been confirmed cases.


To date 1398 people are reported to have recovered, making up 93% all of New Zealand’s confirmed and probable cases.



There have been no new cases reported in the Southern District Health Board area since April 18. A total of 126 cases have been reported in the southern region. Two of those people have died but 207 have recovered, leaving just seven active cases.


Nationally there are two people in hospital in the North Island, neither in intensive care.


The World Health Organisation’s latest situation report has another 88,891 confirmed cases recorded in the previous 24 hours, bringing the global total to 4,006,257 cases. Another 4531 people have died from COVID-19, bringing the world death toll to 88,891.
